The Determination to Win

With last year being the first time LHNE and Norfolk Catholic combined for a softball team-they are on our their way again! With much practice and preparation the Lady Eagles softball team will hopefully begoing to state! The determination and strength of this team will help them to make it to this goal which is on each of their minds. 

At the start of the season, the girls are seemingly preoccupied with butterflies in their stomachs as the girls hurry to get warmed-up and prepared for the game ahead of them. The tension mounts as the players get ready to bat. “Keep your eye on the ball” says their coach, as the first batter rushes to the plate.
The game on Thursday September, 11 was against Twin Rivers. To the team’s disappointment they battled their way through the entire game but lost with a score of 0-14. They didn’t have time to worry much about that game because they had to mentally and physically prepare themselves for the next game against Battle Creek.  With all the girls trying their best to get warmed-up they knew they could beat this team.

As the game began they scored one run on the Eagles right away but the Eagles were able to hold the Braves till the fourth inning when the Eagles made a come back. The Eagles were able to hold the Braves back while the Eagles scored five runs on Battle Creek.  The winning score ended up at 5-1.
