The Orphan Grain Train Supports Orphanages in Russia

On September 19, 2008, Pastor John Reehl and Nicolai, his Russian interpreter, came to Lutheran High to inform us about the ways in which they support orphanages throughout the world. Orphan Grain Train sponsors over 50 orphanages throughout Eastern Europe alone. It only takes 300 dollars each month to support each orphanage. For this small amount, medicine, food, and other necessities can be provided for 50 – 60 children. Bibles are also purchased to hand out at the orphanages. In Russia there are over 600,000 orphaned children. Some of these orphans are burn victims and many are malnourished.

Pastor Reehl and his wife have made many trips to Russia to supply orphans with lifesaving supplies and to spread God’s Word.
