Educating for Life + Promoting the Faith Lutheran High Northeast provides a quality education—one that will prepare young people well for further education and vocation—in a Christ-centered environment. LHNE emphasizes a traditional high school curriculum, small student-to-teacher ratios, and many opportunities for positive participation in the classroom, athletics, and other co-curriculars. LHNE is a member of the Association of Lutheran Secondary Schools and operates as an approved school by the State of Nebraska under Rule 14. All students participate in theology classes, regular worship and devotional opportunities.
Admissions Requirements In order to be admitted to LHNE, a student must (1) show evidence that he/she has successfully completed the previous academic year; (2) show evidence that he/she can successfully complete our graduation requirements within four years of high school; (3) comply with health requirements set by the state, including up-to-date immunizations and a current physical examination form completed within the last year.
Application & Enrollment Forms The first step toward enrollment is completion of an application form signed by the prospective student and at least one parent. This application is forwarded to the principal for formal action to accept the student for enrollment. Application forms are usually made available after January 1 and accepted anytime after that date. A student is considered officially enrolled when an enrollment contract is completed and signed by the student and at least one parent. When this contract is forwarded to the school office along with the registration fee, the student is considered officially enrolled at LHNE. Enrollment contracts are usually mailed after July 1.
Pre-Registration Pre-registration primarily involves choosing appropriate electives and usually happens after February 1. Students are assisted by a school administrator. Course selections are shared with parents. Course selections are subject to final approval by the school principal.
Application for Scholarships Families may apply for scholarship assistance after they have submitted an application for enrollment. Applications for scholarship assistance are usually made available after Feb. 1. Applications are submitted to an independent company which makes recommendations to LHNE on the basis of financial need. Final awards are made by a Scholarship Assistance Committee. Awards are usually announced after June 1. Note: It is very important to have scholarship applications submitted by no later than May 15!
Non-Discrimination Policy The Lutheran High School Association of Northeast Nebraska shall admit students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school administered programs.
