LUTHERAN HIGH NORTHEAST DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS
FRI 9-3-10
We continue a series of devotions adapted from “God’s Word for Students.” Today’s devotion is entitled “Abortion.” We generally don’t realize how special we are to God. Incredibly, we have been made in God’s image, according to Genesis 1:26. Of all God’s creations, we are the only ones who can claim this unique standing. We must see human life as something priceless, purposely created in the image of God. Today, some people take a very casual view of human life. They assume, almost without thinking, that abortion is a convenient option. But because God places a high value on human life, including unborn children, we should, too. We pray: We ask You, O Christ, to work in the hearts of Your people, that they would all recognize and denounce the evil of abortion. Forgive those who have had abortions. Bless us with opportunities to speak about Your great love, including Your love for those babies yet to be born. Amen.
