LUTHERAN HIGH NORTHEAST DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS
THU 9-2-10
Today we continue a series of devotions adapted from “God’s Word for Students.” Today’s devotion is entitled “God’s Word.” When you look at a great city’s skyline or admire a bridge’s intricate structure, it’s easy to be impressed with human ingenuity and creativity. Diligence and hard work turn ideas and raw materials into something new and impressive. But God is the only one to make something out of nothing. The creative power of His word is unsearchable. Listen to the words repeated throughout Genesis 1. “God said . . . And so it was.” As you read further in His word, know that this same creator, who made things by merely speaking, is also speaking to you. You can be sure that He who created “this good work in you, will carry it through to completion” (Philippians 1:6). You are God’s work of art! God has said it . . . and it will be so.” We pray: We praise You, Father, for the glories of Your creation, and we thank You for creating each of us. We thank You for the gift of Your Word. Make us eager to search Your scriptures, that our faith may be strengthened in this world that hates You and Your followers. We pray in the name of Your Son Jesus. Amen.
We’re on pep rally schedule this afternoon. After Period 8, you’re dismissed to the gym. School ends when the pep rally ends. You know the drill.
