LUTHERAN HIGH NORTHEAST DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS
TUE 8-31-10
Today’s Psalm & Prayer: Psalm 11: “In the Lord I take refuge. How then can you say to me: ‘Flee like a bird to Your mountain. For look, the wicked bend their bows; they set their arrows against the strings to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart. When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?’ The Lord is in His holy temple; the Lord is on His heavenly throne. He observes the sons of men; His eyes examine them. The Lord examines the righteous, but the wicked and those who love violence His soul hates. On the wicked He will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur; a scorching wind will be their lot. For the Lord is righteous, He loves justice; upright men will see His face. “ We pray: Dear Lord, we thank You that through Your Son Jesus Christ we have been made righteous and right with You because of His suffering, death, and resurrection. Teach us to love justice and seek peace. We pray in the name of Your Son. Amen.

Today’s “Handbook Highlight” . . . . We define “bullying” as “any non-sexual behavior which attempts to harass, belittle, or intimidate others.” Bullying can be treated as a major misconduct, which can result in serious consequences, including suspension or even expulsion. This includes cyber-bullying and malicious gossip, as well. You want to feel that school is a safe place for you, both physically and emotionally. When you bully others or tolerate bullying and malicious gossip, you are robbing your classmates of their feelings of safety and security.
